    Also owning a CB1100, I frequent their forum as well. There have been a rash of K&N filter failures from members on that forum in the past six months. Enough that basically everyone there has sworn off using them. The welded nut separated from the filter and oil leaked, almost causing several crashes.

    Probably has more to do with the CB1100 than the oil filter. Excessive oil pressure and vibrations can cause problems with oil filters.

    I use K&N only on three of my cycles and never had a problem.

    I have used K and N for more than 20 yrs.Never had a problem.
