    Back Ordered Body Panel

Part number T2302842-PR, Phantom Black, is a LH Upper Frt Panel, and it has the "TROPHY SE" lettering on it.  My local dealer placed an order with Triumph almost five months ago for this and other parts damaged in a tipover.  Everything has since arrived, except the above mentioned panel.  Either in error or as appeasement, Triumph has shipped an incorrect panel (with only "TROPHY" lettering) twice.  This is probably for the non SE Trophy, which I've been told is not sold in the US.  And you can't just add the "SE" badge because the letters' spacing and positioning on the panel is not the same.

In conversations with TMA in GA, it has been suggested that this may the factory's only viable replacement part.  Has anyone else been down this road? Is five months the norm or am I living in the twilight zone?

Factor in the absence of the Trophy in the 2017 on-line brochure, and the ever-present rumor about ending its production, and it's difficult to expect a happy ending.  I'm told I'll have an update next week.

Looking forward to forum input.  Thanks

The "rumour" is no longer a rumour  :110:
( Is Triumph Discontinuing the Beloved Trophy? - Reply #357 )

However, Triumph have stated that ANY discontinued model will be supported for at least 12 Years !

The wait for your upper fairing panel is not accpetable !

A couple of months ago I had a problem getting the left side front foot peg bracket for my Trophy, it's the large aluminum piece that the front foot peg bolts to. I ordered the part from Bikebandit.com, a place I have used many times in the past without any problems. The part I received was all beat up and looked like it was removed from a crashed bike. It was nicked up in several places and had obviously already been mounted on a bike because the paint was scraped off where that mounting bolts go. Needless to say I wasn't at all amused.

When I contacted Bikebandit.com they had me send them pictures, after which they paid to ship the crappy part back to them. Bikebandit.com then informed me the part was back ordered from the factory and it wasn't known if the part would ever be available again. But less than 2 weeks later a new perfect bracket arrived on my doorstep and all was well.

From what I've been told, that is Triumph's usual MO - to provide no feedback on an issue until they do something. (:-(  Thanks for your input.

Have your dealer order part T2304831, which is the SE badge.  I had the same thing happen when I had to replace my left upper panel.
