Hot weather riders-a question
« on: June 11, 2013, 07:22:54 PM »
Do you guys get enough air in the cockpit?  I get hot on my 1050 Tiger and looking at the Trophy it looks even hotter.  I don't mean engine heat-just hot from the sun.

What says the experienced riders among us?

The TSE is no hotter than any other faring bike I've ridden. When it is hot I wear a Joe Rocket cooling vest under a mesh jacket.

Just curious where in western NY you live.  I'm fine with the amount of air I get, even here in hot, humid Houston.  I'm originally from Canandaigua and I can't remember a time the heat and humidity in Upstate rivaled the heat here.  Having said that I have read about air wings which are designed to direct air into the cockpit.  Never used these so can't attest to effectiveness.  http://www.bakerbuilt.com/bbairwings/index.htm

Yep, when it's over 35c, it's stifling. The faring and screen are too successful. Encourages one to ride around in tee shirt, shorts and thongs (flip flops to you lot). :005:
Don't grow up, it's a trap...

I rode back from Laughlin, NV in April. Passing through Amboy, CA it was over 100 degF. It was not too bad. Certainly cooler than the Triumph Rocker I used to own! That thing had a radiator the size of a garage door. When it was hot outside the engine heat was unbelievable! Yikes!
