New member looking for a new ride.  Still ride a bike new in 1980 - maybe time for a new one!  Am looking at the new Trophy with reservations.  Beautiful but reliable?

:400: to the forum.  Maybe some of the members with newer versions than mine (2013) will chime in, but mine has had all it's issues when new solved.

Thanks for your welcome and response.  Glad issues with your ride are sorted out.  That is the kind of information I'm hoping for.  Although much more sophisticated, this bike is still 7 times the original cost of my bike so kind of taking it slow!

Hi aek and :400: to the Forum !

There's a wealth of information within this Forum,
and you can find anything you are specifically looking for
    by using the "SEARCH" button.

A good Topic to start browsing through is this one :
TOP TIPS for New FORUM Members ! which has links to several useful Topics.

Don't be put off if and when you look at the "How to check the most common faults & issues" Topic -
There are lots of items listed there, but many have either been resolved by Triumph,
or were not really a problem at all, just needing an explanation of how things work.

A couple of things to check for the US market, include :

Making sure that the latest Audio Software update ( Version 1.04E ) has been applied -
earlier software versions had a "bug" that resulted in the radio not shutting down
when the Ignition was switched off, draining the Main Battery,

Making sure all applicable Recalls / Modifications have been performed -
which Triumph dealers can advise by checking their system.

When purchasing any Trophy, especially those that have a year or two on them,
there have been a number of reports of the wiring harness leading up to the Ignition switch
being "tight" - particularly when the handlebars are turned fully to the right,
and have resulted in wires actually being pulled out of the Ignition switch connector,
needing the complete Ignition switch to be replaced - so check for this on any Trophy you look at !
Full details on this issue here : Ignition Switch Wiring Failures

More so in the USA it seems that it is very important to find a RELIABLE Dealer !

There have been several reports from Forum Members of certain Dealers letting the Triumph brand down
and not providing the kind of service that should be expected, so it would be worth asking on here for any
recommendations on specific Dealers in your area that you are intending to use.

    Happy hunting !

    Hello Ask and welcome.

Yes... there have been issues.... name a new product these days which doesn't! But they have been resolved in 99.9% of cases quite amicably even sometimes well outside of warranty.

Its a great bike you will love! :400:

Zero issues with my 2016 TTSE.  Now that I think about it, I have not had to take a bike in for a repair in over 25 years.  Just tires, oil changes, and scheduled maintenance.  I probably just jinxed myself.....rats!

    Welcome.

I had the infamous battery drain issue with the 2013 model. Easily fixed with a software upgrade.

My impression is that the growing pains issues were pretty much limited to the 2013 model and were easily fixed.

It's a great bike, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
