I tried to order the comfort seat last week. Apparently the seat is obsolete and triumph have discontinued the item. My dealer is looking to find it from other dealers in N America.

Doesn't sound right.  Look at other dealers yourself, or go straight to the Triumph website.   I am sure they're out there.

The Rider Comfort Seat, Part Number T2308262 is no longer listed on the Triumph UK
web site ( the Comfort Pillion Seat is still there ), but it IS still listed here :

    World of Triumph
and lets you add the item to your "Basket", but doesn't say if they have any in stock.

    Also:

Cross Country Cycles ( but doesn't say if they have any stock )

and this UK Triumph Dealer via eBay :
Triumph World - Approx. $216.51 including Shipping

    Happy Hunting  :028:

I'm fairly certain it includes a layer of "Gel" in the seat,
to make it more comfortable  :169:

The difference is with the stock high seat, I can ride 2 hours and have to stop, but with the comfort seat I can empty the whole tank and not want to stop.

The difference is two 3D web straps running front to back of the seat and possibly different memory foam. I don't believe my comfort seat has gel inserts.

Agree with other comments that extends the comfort range from a couple of hours to most of the day. I still use an AirHawk as well on longer day rides.
