who has the altitude record riding the 2012 trophy
« on: June 16, 2013, 12:11:24 AM »
I was wondering who has been the highest riding a trophy? Been over mountains? Or planning a tour this year covering some high places.it would be interesting to see if Europe or the Americas have the highest passes?

Nothing to fear but fear itself!

Well as of today I've only ridden to 5900 feet. When I make my next trip to Colorado I'm sure I will be at around 11000 feet, maybe 14000 if I drift over to Pikes Peak.  Europe has some great scenery but I'm pretty sure that our brethren in Colorado, California or Alaska are easily going to exceed any drivable peaks in Europe

Crossing the Sierra from Hwy 395 to the Central Valley. My first choice is Hwy 4.

No chance of beating this record in Australia I'm afraid.  We can't compete with the glorious heights of those in Europe.   We have some of the best riding roads in the world but unfortunately the height record will never be ours.

All we can come up with in West Oz is a miserly 1252 metres. It's all iron ore, so we might dig it up and sell it.  :008:

Google Mt Meharry.
