Hi all, I currently  ride a super tenere, I had an st1300, but someone at a stop light decided he needed to turn left before I could get through the intersection,  and took my bike out for good. I'm  currently looking for a new St, as I like that style of riding, and am wondering what  issues the trophy has. What is the long term reliability?  What are common maintenance problems? Etc.etc.
Thanks for allowing  me to join.

Hello Wally and welcome.... hope we can help you come to a decision.

The Trophy is a great bike with few significant problems. Yes, there have been a few little glitches, resolved by software and updates usually. Triumph have been pretty proactive in resolving issues. One or 2 have had more significant problems, but these have been rare and generally also looked after by Triumph to a satisfactory conclusion to all.

If you go to the forum boards > Main trophy Boards, How to guides section. There are some 'pinned' topics at the top which list common issues. I say common but nothing has been truly common and all fairly minor.

Have a search and if you can't find an answer to a specific question you have then ask away!

    Welcome Wally,

I concur with cropbiker that there were a few glitches in early models for which there was a quick remedy. There have been a few folks with extended issues but it seems like those are largely related to dealerships with poorly trained service technicians. I also concur with coconut, take a test ride, but if you do you better bring your wallet along.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
