    Brake Pads - Updated

    Hi everyone,

I have been searching and reading posts about brake pads. Does anyone have information on who/where/what to buy as replacement pads for our bike? I was quoted $160 for front pads alone by my local dealer! I changed pads on my Concours and paid just over $100 for all pads, front and rear, so was expecting the same for the Trophy (or less, hopefully??). I'm told and also read where the HH Sintered pads are the preferred pads for our bike. I can search for HH Sintered pads but there are different choices...which pad should I be looking for, who should I be buying them from so I'm not paying over $200 in brake pads...what are my options?

I see "Kevlar" pads for sale...any issues with using those???

I did a search and wasn't finding "all" the information I was looking for so that is why I ask. As always, your help and advice is appreciated! (Coconut, I did look, I promise!)

UPDATE -  Looks like I may have found what I'm looking for. Motorcycle SuperStore sells front pads for $57.99 (would need 2) and rear for $37.99. Are those reasonable prices?

Still interested in hearing input on Kevlar pads.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I think one member here fitted EBC pads and was very pleased with their performance.

    .... would need 2 ....

    Make sure that's 2 "SETS" - 4 pads per set ( 2 discs ) = 8 Pads in total ! :169:

I've no idea how good or bad these particular pads are, I've just seen them,....£34.99 for fronts & the rear sounds like a bargain.

I personally wouldn't trust anyone, or their products,
that doesn't know how many pads are needed for a particular Bike.

i.e. - If you buy those, and assuming they fit,
what are you going to put in the OTHER front Disc ? !  :164:

Is it just poor wording on their part I wonder? I'd rather see a proper picture of the actual product rather than an image/symbol of the goods.
Another one of their ads, just for the front brakes.
