Grumble Grumble - Triumph Owners MCC Melbourne Australia

Having recently bought a 2016 TTSE  I thought joining the Melbourne chapter of the Triumph Owners MCC would be the appropriate thing to do. I completed the membership form, paid my money; and waited. After ~ four weeks I called the Membership Secretary and enquired as to the state of play. He had not received my form from the Club Secretary; and he undertook to follow it up.

I waited a couple of weeks and then called the Club Secretary. She was very pleasant and made the right noises but I still haven't heard from them.

The issue is that I would like to attend club meetings, but the location of the meeting is not public - only members know where it is. The other thing is there may be club rides I could attend, but I need to know about them. Attendance at a meeting would certainly be a help in that regard.

Having initiated the process on 10 April, am I being unreasonable by expecting to have heard from them? Comparisons are not necessarily fair, but I am also a member of the local BMW Club and they are very responsive.

Comment from Australian inmates in particular would be welcomed; but anyone who wishes to weigh in can do so
    I believe

As far as I am aware, the majority ( if not all ? ) of the "Staff" of TOMCC's
are volunteers, but that doesn't excuse providing a poor service when you are paying for it.

On the Contact Page of their Web Site they publish Phone numbers
of the President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Membership & Club Permit Scheme,
so I'd call one of / all of them again, and ask why you still haven't heard anything.

I'd also mention that you expect 12 months Membership to commence
from the date you receive your membership details, and not the date you applied !

    Cheers  :821:

The admin in small clubs is done as a secondary job for most so can be slow, although that seems ridiculous as they have taken money from you. Provided they don't start your membership until you actually get told you are a member but even then worth a comment to the membership secretary... not very welcoming.
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧

    G'day Duncan,

IMHO you're not being unreasonable to be concerned at a lack of response after five-six weeks.

Duncan, I also agree with Travelling2bob. Maybe it's about time we got together and organised an east coast [Australia] get together. Somewhere central in NSW maybe. It certainly would provide us with a network of owners/locations on top of this Forum. I'll give you a ring and discuss it. Cheers. :158:

Waiting for the better weather to arrive. Somewhere with good riding roads, central, reasonable accommodation and meals availability. I'm on it. October/November maybe, pre summer rush. Give me your location thoughts and I'll work on them. A couple of takers already I think, self and wife, yourself and maybe duncammcmaster. The more the merrier. :046: :046:
