    RIDE TO THE WALL 7th October 2017 - 10th Anniversary !

As I'll be back on the road and wil be attending this Year's Ride to the Wall,
which is the 10th Anniversary of this event,
I thought I'd start a discussion Topic now, as even though there are almost
4 months to go, some of the Start Locations are already fully booked !

What is Ride to the Wall ?

"Ride To The Wall is a unique motorcycling fundraising ride with  dedicated service
of remembrance that provides an opportunity for all motorcyclists to ride as
an organised group to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to pay their
respects and recognise the sacrifice made by the 16,000+ service men and women
whose names are engraved on The Wall of the Armed Forces Memorial."

You can Register to attend on the Ride to the Wall 2017 Web Site for 10,
and will receive a "2017 Year Bar" which can be attached
to the main Ride to the Wall Pin badge ( 4 ).

I'm not sure which Start location I will be riding from yet,
but perhaps any Trophy riders that are going can co-ordinate here,
and arrange to meet up and ride together from their own Start points ?

RTTW is a great day out.
This year I'll be starting at Drayton Manor, got our bids in about 10 mins after the booking site opened.
Only problem with starting at Drayton is we arrive about 20 mins before the service, so miss all the attractions, previously they've had fly pasts by Spitfires, Wellingtons Dakotas, the Red Devil paras, White Helmets etc, so it's good to get there early and have a mooch around.

The good thing about Drayton, is I meet up with a load of mates who I haven't seen for years and we get there about 4pm on the Friday, and spin dits and drink. We are not on the bikes till midday Saturday, so we are safe to ride by then.

I'll be riding a Thunderbird Storm, look for the one with the :062: rather nice diving paint job.

I've used that one before as an "Ice Breaker" in a Presentation I gave.

Never ceases to amaze me what those journalists get up to.

Not as much interest in this so far as I thought there might be.

I'm open to suggestions about where to start from,
but if there aren't any, I may well also turn up at Strensham !
