Anyone run a mini air comptessor off the 12 v oulet in the glovebox?  Would it be better to run it directly off the battery to avoid blowing a fuse?

Hi Smash, have only tried the main 12v outlet ( adjacent to Left knee ) and it worked fine.   My compressor has a `fused' jack plug,   hope this is of use.... :821:

If one connect to the glovebox, it would blow the fuse. You can use the one in the trunk if you have the OEM one or like suggested before, (the one adjacent to the knee).

    Hope this help

I've used the one in the Top Box without any issues.

Note that the Sockets in the Glove Box & Top Box
are Standard "Cigar Lighter" type sockets,
while the one by the Rider's knee, and the one for the pillion
are both "DIN" / "HELLA" type sockets,
so make sure your compressor has the correct Plug
for the Socket you are using !  :028:

Thnaks for the replies.  The compressor I have has a standard cigar lighter plug, battery clips, and a battery lead.  I was afraid the outlet in glovebox was intended to charge a phone and might have a small fuse.  I didn't think of the plug in the top box.  I might just hook up the battery lead and try to leave the plug end accessible, so I don't have to unload the top box on the side of the road.  The side cases and top box should be in any day now, so I'll wait and look at that before I do anything.

    Thanks

The glove box socket should work. All the sockets are on 10 amp fuses according to the manual. As long as the compressor does not take more than 120 watts it should be fine.

.... so I don't have to unload the top box on the side of the road ...

You won't need to unload the Top Box -
the Power Socket is quite accessible in the near left corner,
and most of the Mini compressors have a long enough Power cable
so that you will be able to reach the front tyre if needed :169:   :028:
