Not a report but a question? Are any of you North American members planning on riding to experience the total eclipse on August 21? I'll be headed to southern Illinois.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

She who must be obeyed is presenting at a science teacher convention in Nashville...I'm riding down there from NJ to see the eclipse. (And check out the Natchez trace!)

That sounds like a fun thing to do.  Unfortunately, that is our first day of class at my college so there is no way I can go anywhere.  Luckily we have an observatory and planetarium so we will be tied in the NASA video feed and have the filters that people can use.

I looked into this but it would be a nearly 12 hour drive if I head South through most of Idaho. Bit of a risk that after all that it would be cloudy out and I wouldn't see much anyway. If I could have reached it in a day it might still be worthwhile but just a bit too far for me I think.  :012:

I'd be with you but for retirement.

I was considering it but it is a 24 hour round trip and I am taking off for New England trip on the 9/1 so I will pass.  Thanks
