Another new owner from the Bay Area

Hello All,
I'm also from the San Francisco Bay Area and just picked up a 2016 Triumph Trophy SE, also in Phantom Black. My last experience with a sport-tourer was a Kawasaki Concours 14 which I ended up riding coast to coast on (California to South Carolina and back). I'm coming off a Victory Cross Country Tour and Ducati Diavel. I decided for a number of reasons that it was time to drop back down to one bike and I knew a sport tourer was going to be the only option but since my Victory had a number of creature comforts I had grown used to, my choices narrowed to the Triumph Trophy SE and the BMW R1200RT.
I admit, I was a little nervous pulling the trigger on a bike that will no longer be produced but at least Triumph is still around and seems to be going strong. Also, the Triumph was considerably cheaper than a comparably equipped R1200RT and I really like the triple's power delivery and smoothness.
I'm looking forward to learning more about the Trophy and hopefully getting to meet some of the other Bay Area owners over time.

Congratulations! These SE's are a gas, aren't they? I am loving mine so far, and even though I am very early on into the process I feel a sort of familiarity with this machine that is hard to explain.
Funny, I also have a Victory, a '14 Vision Tour. But no way was I getting rid of mine. I will keep that Vision until either it dies or I can't ride it any longer. I'm just too attached to it and it is too good a bike. But the Trophy is such a great addition to the family. I could not be happier!
"The most important thing is to have a good relationship with the bike... you have to understand what she wants. I think of a motorcycle as a woman, and I know that sounds silly, but it's true". - Valentino Rossi

:401:Glad to have you on the Forum. I bought the bike and won't be able to ride it until my subdural hematoma suffered in a bike accident where I high sided when hitting a ditch resolves. I will have to be content to sit on the bike and learn all the different settings.
My Best!
Gary
