Hello from New Mexico (that's in the USA BTW)

Hello all.  I found a new 2015 online on eBay in Florida so instead of having it shipped I decided to fly down and ride the bike back.  I was riding a 2011 Suzuki V-Strom DL650 but wanted something more "road" worthy for light touring.  Ironic part is I've never actually sat on one let alone ride it before deciding I was interested in one.  It could have been a bad mistake but the price was right and since I'm retired now decided I could take the time and ride it 2/3 the way across the USA.  Great bike but I suspect I'll be posting some questions in the appropriate forums dealing with the display and accessories/parts/  So that's all for now but I hope to be active around here.

On the ride home I had scheduled the initial 500 mile service in Mississippi at a dealer there.  HUGE dealer and they were able to get me in and out in just a couple hours so that was lucky for me. Downside was the cost but I expected as much at a dealer service department.

    Rick

PS - For those not familiar with the "(that's in the USA BTW)" there are running stories in the State that when someone mentions being from "New Mexico" folks may often think it's the Country of "Mexico".  Folks even have had US airline personnel refuse to issue tickets without them showing their passport.

Welcome. I've heard that before about NM. However I never had problems "crossing the border" from Arizona or Texas.

Wise choice on the bike and congratulations. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
