To think that Triumph stuck with using other 'normal' and widely available fluids on this bike (engine oil and brake fluid),....if only they had done that with the coolant too.   :084:

Well, turns out it is getting easier to find.
I checked last week and now I see the Zerex 05 coolant in many local parts stores (NAPA, O'Reiley's, etc) and it is HOAT and working great in mine.
    Year round rider here!

I did email Triumph HQ about this subject, their reply were that it's OK to use any other HOAT coolant that's available by the way. :028:

Resurrecting an old thread but I think it's the right place for this:

Triumph no longer sell HOAT coolant. The new coolant is this:

which according to TriumhSuperStore is red in colour and does not mix with the  blue original factory coolant.

I emailed Fowlers to ask them about this and got the following:

"The D2053 is the new coolant Triumph supply, the part number for this in a 1 litre size is T4007771. We do not have any information regarding the reason for the change."

Fowlers want £9.90 a litre for the new coolant.

I've got 5 litres of Comma GO5 in my shed which is concentrate (will mis with distilled water 50:50) which I think I will use when I change the coolant out next time round. It seems to be the same stuff as the Zerex G-05 people are using in the USA.

I went down the rabbit hole on coolant and found this:

    https://maintenanceschedule.com/triumph-hd4x-hybrid-oat-alternatives/

The site ends up saying the Zerex G-05 is the nearest to the Triumph HOAT.

Now the factory has seemingly dirched HOAT and gone to OAT so I'm flummoxed, really.

I may call in to my local dealer later today and try and get the last word from them.. if they have any more idea than anyone else!!

How can something so simple get so complicated?

Good to know since I used the Zerex G-05 because it is a HOAT coolant and did use distilled water of course to dilute.

Interestingly, I have noticed at several stores only a "Universal" coolant is now being stocked, including at Walmart.  I'll stick with the G-05 until it's not available, however.  It would be nice to know how the "Universal" coolant can replace all the other types / mixtures.

Also using the G-05 only involves a 12 minute ride to the local auto parts store vs. a  45 minute ride to the nearest Triumph dealer.
BTW, I have never been to the Triumph dealer since I order parts from Hermy's.
