Threw the R&G catalog at it!
« on: June 29, 2013, 07:25:02 am »
Pretty much all the R&G scuff protection things I ordered from Twisted Throttle are installed on the bike. The entire faring had to come off to install the crash bars.

There was plastic everywhere

Think things turned out pretty good though. I like!

The other stuff:

Fork sliders:

Bar end Sliders:

Final drive slider:

Next up is highway pegs mounted to the crash bars.

I am also thinking of putting all that on. After years of being used to the tip over protection of the Honda ST1100 (which I have not used) the thought of a drop on the panel work is a bit of an issue.

Looks great.  How much time did it take to do all that work?

Full marks to whoever designed those crash bars  :028:

The bike doesn't lend itself to have 'bars added, they are are big and highly protective, yet they fit in so well with the design of the bike that they could hardly be more discrete. 10/10  :001:

Garage floor looks clean enough to eat off of.

Thanks!  About 5 hours.  It probably wouldn't have taken that long if I had taken the cowling off before.  I wanted to make sure I did a good job so I followed the R&G instructions to the letter.  I had issues going back together too.  Not because it was difficult, but because some parts had to go back before other parts.  There was a lot of assembly, D'OH!, disassembly, reassembly.   :138:

I agree!  I don't know if there is another manufacturer of crash bars for this bike but, I don't really care!  Top notch fit and finish.  The instructions were clear and concise as well.   :152: for R&G and Twisted Throttle for carrying their full line.  I've had a couple of remarks along the lines of folks not even noticing they were there until they got right up on the bike.

Ha!  That's because it's not my garage!  It's the shop where I work.  Cool of them to let me use it.

Looks great!  Have you thought about adding highway/rider pegs to the crashbarss??  Is there enough clearance to do so???
