    Petrol Smell

Okay, it's really gasoline but either way, I have a concerning problem. My 2016 TTSE lives its operating months in a well-ventilated shed, but I recently moved it for the winter to my girlfriend's two-car garage. She tells me there is the strong odor of gas when she opens the garage door.

I don't think it's overflow from the tank because although I did fill it before riding it to her house, it took me about 30 minutes and 18 miles to get it there. Hmmm...maybe in fact that bit of travel wouldn't have made an appreciable dent in the amount of fuel left? She sees no evidence of spillage on her garage floor. I think its been too cool for rapid evaporation (temps from 40F-60F).

    Thoughts?

They are Gassy bikes especially when cooling down after a ride - or standing in a garage.

I've not heard of any hitting the flash point and catching fire but best not to smoke etc. around the tank area! :045:

At times I have had wiffs of fuel from mine and quite strong sometimes.  I think the over flow seems to hold a bit of fuel or at least gas but I am not too careful when filling up?  There was an issue with early Trophys in america only, where a plate on the tank warped and seeped fuel.  But I  think this was very early models.  There was quite a but written up on here.

Maybe she thinks you love the Trophy more than her and she just wants out of her garage so she doesn't have look at it every day.  :745:

When I first bought my new to me 2013 TTSE I had a strong smell of gas coming from the bike after parking it in the garage after riding it. It turned out that one of the small hoses that attach to the top of the tank wasn't connected. Easy fix and now no more gas smell.
