Can't figure out how to get Triumph Alarm into Switch Mode
« on: November 15, 2017, 02:33:30 AM »
OK....I'm stumped.

Since USA Accessories has accessories for cheap, I bought the data tool alarm.

I would like to adjust the sensitivity.

I have programed a code into the system
I turn the ignition ON, OFF< on Off, and On within 7 seconds
I wait for the fast flash and then the beeps for the first number - turn off the ignition
I turn on the ignition and wait for the beeps for the second number to complete
I turn off the ignition
I turn on the ignition for the third number
I turn off the ignition
I ton off the ignition for the fourth number
I turn off the ignition...
I hear a loud beep......I turn back on......AND NOW WHAT DO I DO TO ENTER THE MODE TO CHANGE SENSITIVITY?   I'm lost!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Glad I answered my own question!   It worked....

Now to figure out the sensitivity modes

Found this on another site......Just don't know the correct settings....any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Here is a cut and paste from the other site

If you ever want to change any of the settings found in the 'Engineer Software Switches' on a Triumph Datatool S4 alarm system and don't want to pay an 'approved' dealer to do it for you, you'll need the unpublished info below.

There are a range of things you can configure in the Engineer Software Switches including:
Tone on arm/disarm (set to off by default)
Movement sensor sensitivity (default=3degs, options are 2, 3, 4 or 5 degs)
Shock sensor sensitivity (10 settings, default=8)
Nudge sensor behaviour (various options - see the manual)
etc
Health Warning: Configuring the Datatool S4 alarm system is a fiddly procedure which I wouldn't recommend if you are not good at following convoluted instructions to the letter.

To Enter Switch 3 - Engineer Software Switches

Go through the process described in the User Guide to enter the Software Switches and then:

1. Navigate to Switch 3 by pressing the GREY button until 3 beeps are heard
2. Press both buttons of the remote (3 fast beeps will be heard)
3. press the grey button (a beep will be heard)
4. press both buttons (a beep will be heard)
5. press the black button (a lower tone beep will be heard)

You are now in the engineer’s software switches.

The process of moving around, selecting the software switch and changing the settings is the same as switches 1 (siren tone) and 2 (passive/full arming) with each software switch being indicated by the number of lower tone beeps heard.

Enter the required switch by pressing both button of the remote

Once the desired adjustment has been made, press both buttons of the remote to confirm.

Once configuration is complete, exit by switching off the ignition.

Post back here to let others know how you got on - it worked fine for me but did take me a while to get used to long process of getting into the software switches. Once I'd cracked it, I turned on the alarm arm/disarm tones (it beeps twice to say the alarm is armed and once when you turn it off) and also changed the nudge sensor to set the alarm off straight away if knocked - ie doesn't give a loud warning beep on the first nudge.

I installed the S4 on my current Sprint and ended up adjusting 'sensitivity' to its lowest settings per Datatool after the alarm would go off in the middle of the night without provocation.  No other issues other than it failed prematurely IMO after 8+ years (internal battery).  The S4 on my Trophy was installed by the selling dealer (his first install) and apparently left at factory default settings.  The tech filled in none of the warranty information so I haven't sent anything back to Datatool.  The dealer installed Veto Evo unit (S4 predecessor) on my '01 ST was trouble free the 6+ years I owned it.
