    Greetings from Laclede, Idaho

Greeting from rainy Laclede, Id. I have been interested in owning another Triumph triple since I had many tridents in my youth. much older now. Currently ride a BMW K1200LT but I broke my left femur in 2013 and she's abit too heavy 2 up and a bit high. Sitting on one of the Trophy SE's at the Spokane bike show I found this bike very pleasant except I could not touch the ground with my feet. I found out about "lowering links" and now I want one of these instead of the LT. I am going to Florida soon to help a friend move to a new home and was looking to pick up one then possibly. Found a 2014 looks nice with only 6000 mi. and a lot of goodies and lowered. I heard a great deal of goodd things about these bike and hope to learn from you all. Do any of you have the lowering kit installed and does the handling remain unaffected?  I imagine one has to drop the front tubes in the fork crown also to balance it out? i am 5'9" and a 29" inseam. Does this sound do-able? Thanks and can't with to meet you all.

Welcome to your search  :401: I will leave the response to the experts here.  If you can make it fit the bike is wonderful.

Hi NEARMISSES and :400: to the Forum !

The Trophy also has some variations of the Seat,
each of which has 2 positions which alter the height approx 20mm.

The US Export model of Trophy is shipped with the "Low" Seat as standard,
while the UK / Europe market gets the "Standard" Seat as, well, Standard !

I don't suppose you know which seat was fitted to the Trophy you sat on,
but before rushing out and buying the lowering Links,
check the Trophy you intend to buy to see if it has the Low Seat  :169:

There are some Members that have lowered their Trophies -
some have also lowered the front end, while others have left it.
I can't advise on that as I haven't done it myself,
but I expect someone that has, will be along soon !

    Cheers  :821:

    NEARMISSES,

I have installed the Lust lowering links.  They lower the seat height about .75 inch.  I also lowered the front end.  There is a good thread on this project,

    https://www.triumph-trophy.com/index.php/topic,713.0.html

I have found no real difference in handling.

Installing the links is a piece of cake, the front end is little harder, the entire project took me about 2.5 hours and I am an amateur.

    Good Luck.

    ZShyster

Welcome to the forum, good luck with the new bike (if you get it). I'm 5'11" with a 31" inseam and I manage very well with the bike.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
