How hot does your Triumph heated seat get.

Just purchased a heated seat for my 2014. After installation it doesn’t seem to get very hot. My BMW k1200 GT used to get quite hot.
After being on for about 10 minutes, with the bike idling, it only hot to 87’ by my laser thermometer.
Anyone have a similar issue or am I just expecting more heat? It was 72 here today.

I checked mine with a thermometer and it started at 60 and heated to 87.  87 is as high as it would get, the heat is escaping.  So i sat on the bike for a minute then read it after getting off and it read 107

To be honest, I did not use a thermometer, but the part of my body that sits on the seat. In the high position I had to drive some time standing because it just went to hot!

Just thinking, do you have to be sat on it for it to work? My first got so hot it was unbearable and was changed under warranty. Mine is okay now but Rukka suit seems to keep most of the heat away from where it should be getting, which is a bummer (see what I did there?!!)

Mine gets too hot on high so I have to turn it down.  But probably only when seated.

A lot depends on the bike gear you are wearing, thick winter trousers certainly prevent the heat coming through to some degree.

Not changing the subject I'm reminded of the heated grip issue with the last gen Sprint ST, of which I own an '08.  My '01 had the grips installed and heated up quite nicely.  My generation's 'high' setting corresponds to the 'low' setting on the previous generation - Triumph acknowledged this.

Many people fitted aftermarket grips and/or used heated gloves while riding the 05 - 09 Sprint Sts..  Wearing winter gloves, I only have issues riding my current Sprint when the ambient temps are in the 30s(F) or lower.  Noticed the Trophy grips heat up quite well.  Riding approx. 150 miles later today on the Trophy with the ambient temps in the 40s(F).
