Rear Shock Wire dangling
« on: November 24, 2017, 02:52:58 PM »
Hello folks, Im almost embarrassed to ask this but when cleaning the bike, I have noticed a thin black wire hanging down near my rear shock.  There is a silver clip attached to it and I cant for the life of me see where this clip locates to hold the wire in place and stop it just dangling.

The wire is on the LHS of the shock, (When sat on bike).

Any comments are much appreciated.

I cant post a pic as I don't have photo bucket anymore

Thank's

Daz

Hi Daz33,

The most embarrassing question is the one that doesn't get asked !

With the demise of Photo Hosting by Photobucket, the Forum now has a new
Members Photo Gallery - just click the "Photos Gallery" button on the top Menu Bar
and follow the instructions to set yours up !

Alternatively, scroll down past the Message Composing Window to the "Attach:" Section.
Click the "Browse" button and locate the Photo file on your PC or Smartphone,
and attach it to your message that way. ( Note the file size limit of 1024 Kb ! ).

I presume this is a section of wire,
and we are not talking about the END of a wire hanging down ?

It's most likely to be one of the wires for the Triumph Electronic Suspension ( TES ).

One of those wires runs down and behind the plastic shield into the rectangular
aluminium casting at the bottom of the suspension unit.

It does have a small shiny silver clip that should secure it towards to the top of the suspension strut -
Quite difficult to see and get at, or even photograph - but see below !

Cheers  :821:

Mr Coconut, thankyou so much for taking the time to do a photo.  Yes that's the wire in question. I can now see where to relocate it so it doesn't interfere with the shock when riding.

I'll be fitting my new heated rider seat this weekend so will pop the wire back where it belongs.

Thanks again

Daz 😊
