    Memory stick and playback
    on: Nov 25, 2017, 12.40 am
    Nov 25, 2017, 12.40 am
I tried to use a memory stick on the USB port to play mp3 files. At first it recognized the track and displayed the band name and song but would not play. I fooled with the volume wondering if that was it, but it still did nothing. Then I left the memory stick plugged in and turned the ignition off. I cycled through the playback modes and when it came up on the uSB device it started playing the song but then abruptly quit. Did it again and the same thing happened. Any ideas?

One problem might be the  volume of the recorded music  on the stick.  I had to use media monkey to up the volume to be above the squelch for the tt.  I think the squelch (cut off point) is set quite high.  Also for example you have to have the volume on the sat nav set quite high for it to Break in.

As an aside i think that is the problem with Bluetooth to certain headsets.  You get the same with a burst of sound when it first connects and then it cuts out.

Well I tried the method described in the link. It saw the file and even though I named the filed 'testmusic' it displayed it by Artist and song title. Now that I think about it maybe that is how I have it set up to display. I just thought that was weird. Anyway it was not playing, but after a few times I got it to play about 3 notes and then it stopped. Basically the same as the first time I tried it when I had multiple songs on the drive. Maybe I will try reformatting again. After that I will try it with another memory stick as soon as I find one.
