I liked how it looked and followed your lead, thumper - likewise, replaced the white position lamp with an amber LED.

Follows are pictures of amber position light with headlights on and off.   :002:

I replaced mine with a white LED.  Thought about amber but wondered how it would look.

I like it!

I ordered an amber and blue (to coordinate with bike color).  Not in the mood to fight the bikes hardware and replace the stock bulb right now but will do so at some point.  I did cheap out and but the 7 LED variety so may not be bright enough to do anything.  If it works will grab a "better" replacement if necessary later.

Luckily I have no real inspections so unless it gets really out of hand I won't have a problem with future registration or Law enforcement.

I just fitted a blue LED on mine (to coordinate with the paint color).  Looks blue in person but pictures show more cool white.

Be careful with blue lights on a motor vehicle in the USA. Most states have laws making them illegal in any position on the vehicle on anything other than a legitimate emergency vehicle.

Except I've seen too many Ricers driving around with Blue Halo LED's around their headlights and any number of colors in under body light kits.  It's certainly not bright blue but more a cool white.  Since I now know it's so easy to change I may swap the amber into it just to be safe.  Then again by the time I pres send on this I'll probably forget I even did it.  Age....what can I say?
