    I decided to dismantle the front of the bike today to correctly install my sat nav, it was that or Christmas food shopping  :084:
    behind the plastic panel, under the indicator lens, I found this plug / socket, what is it for

    Happy happy now, the sat nav is now part of the bike  :001:

    I've got one of those too - I asked my Dealer about it -
    they thought it was something to do with programming the Audio Unit :084:
    ( which we know can be updated via the USB port ! )

    good luck with the garmin sold mine it got called the vermin in the end, drove me MAD going for the tomtom rider 450 with hope that will be better.

    Hi greenduck1966, I have never had a problem with the Garmin, It took the wife and i all over France last August with no problems at all, the only thing i cant get to work is Basecamp, I put it down to me not being to teck savvy  :745:

    yes base camp is a joke and the pink line that leaves a trace were you have been is a pain at bizzy junctions amd tells you leave exits way to late

    Could be the feed for the XM antenna on US versions. Looks like it from the plug.

    That's what I was going to say.

    As for Basecamp. Use this instead: furkot.com.

    I happen to like my Garmin quite a bit.
