New frame for Throphy SE 2013

Due to a warrenty claim I ended up with a new frame for a Trophy.
I did not want the dealer to brake down the bike and rebuild it in the new frame.
We decided that repairing the old frame was the better thing to do (and cheeper). Some welding and an additional bracket did the trick.

Anyone interested in a brand new frame that is still in the factory box?

    Hi Marcel

As mentioned in my personal message do you have a photo of the frame in the box ?

It could help you to sell it   :028:

    Cheers  :821:

Buyer beware.Check W.I.N.Normally when a frame or engine is replaced under warranty it is stamped with the same number as the part it replaces. If a new number is issued it should have a new M.S.O from Triumph
Maybe Marcel can verify that the number is not the same and that the frame has the right paperwork with it

    Hi Marcel,

What happened to the original Frame - Where did it break ?

Was it around the Centre Stand area that, on the first Trophies,
had a Recall for fitting a strengthening bracket,
and which was modified on later production models ?

    Cheers  :821:

I can and will add some picture of the frame. Give me some time to do so....

Not that clear from my original post, but the frame broke around the center stand.
Actually only the holes for the pivot point of the center stand broke. And as a result the center stand was also bended and twisted.

From the factory a recall has been done. That does not include my frame number though. I have a later model.
So you would expect that my bike already has the modification. It broke anyway.

The dealer hired a professional welder to repair the frame. This has been done carefully and looks very solid. Additionally the bracket for the recall has been mounted and a new center stand is fitted. So everything is strong and save again.

I ended up with the frame the dealer got from Triumph. It was a trade off as I had to pay for the repair.

Biggest problem I can see is if it has the same numbers stamped as your bike it isn't much good to anyone else. If someone risks it, it could cause lots of problems, no matter how much documentation it comes with

I had the same issue and Triumph replace the frame with a new one that have the same VIN number. It took just two days to swap frames and Triumph cover all the cost!!

If they send you a frame with the same VIN (which is likely) you can´t sell that frame, as there is no title for it, unless you sell it with your bike.

I was told by Triumph of America, that the dealer will destroy the old frame, to avoid having two parts with one VIN.
