    Storm 3D X-M tyres

Hi all, i posted this on facebook, but there may be a bigger audience here.

Hi all when i bought my TTSE back in September it came with almost new Storm 3D X-M, they had been on a few weeks. My question is, how long can I expect them to last, I only ride the bike a few days a month, just pottering around, I'm asking as I am going to Bulgaria and back in August, the wife will be riding back with me, and I will be traveling with luggage, not excessive, but obviously weight all adds up. I'm guessing the mileage will be around the 3500 mile mark. If I have to replace them for the trip so be it, I put PR4s on my last bike for France, loved those, would they be suitable on the TTSE. Thanks in advance :-)  :028: :028: :028:

I got almost 11,000 MILES out of my Storms, about 1/2 with full touring load, one up.  Had several sets of PR4's on the bike and my former ST1300, IMHO the Avons are a better tire in every way...   Just started wearing out my second set, and am putting Avon's on my Africa Twin when the OEM horrible rubber is worn out...

Thanks for the reply Janfmiller and the information, it's good to know.
I did find a thread on tyres after i asked the question, and they all say good things about the tyre  :001: :001:

Unfortunately buying Avon Motorcycle Tyres in France is becoming difficult. I only experienced one set of them: both of them worn out at about 15000 kms! Which in my own book is an extremely good performance considering the weight of the Beast and the pace I usually ride it  :047:

    Hi,  :158:

I realized 5300 miles with the front tire (which I have to change), regarding the rear tire it is still OK.

Very good feelings of road held.
