I didn't spot your initial Post - and I'm not sure what you mean by "rapping",
but there are numerous reports of noisy engines on start up,
after they been left sitting for a few weeks,
due to the oil draining out of the Hydraulic Cam Chain Tensioner.

The Tensioner usually re-pressurises with Oil after the engine has started and quietens down.

The Service Book, referring to replacing the Tensioner, which will have become de-pressurised, states :

After fitting to the engine, the hydraulic tensioner will be empty of engine oil.
After starting the engine, the camshaft tensioner blade will be noisy
until full oil pressure is felt at the tensioner plunger.
This could take up to 5 seconds.

IF The noise is coming from the Cam Chain Tensioner, and lasts longer than 5 seconds,
then the Hydraulic Plunger may be faulty and in need of replacement.

and for comparison's sake, a failed main bearing sounds like someone hitting the engine block with a ball peen hammer.

Wow, sorry to hear this. Seems these bikes don't like sitting for very long at all.  Was there any indication of a problem before it sat? So far my Trophy has never sat for more than 8 days, and I have never heard a bad noise upon startup. I think moving forward regardless of my riding status the bike is going to get run once a week...

I hope you get her back better than new.

I started mine (and rode) a few days ago after sitting since last October mid month and I heard what I presume is the cam chain tensioner.  Scared me but only for a second or two and then all was right with the world.  I'm not one to start a bike every so often just for starting it up but since the weather locally should be getting better I will be riding more often anyway.
