Hello all. I believe it is customary to get the virtual drinks in. I am a gin and tonic man so its gins all round then. I have bought my first Triumph having had mainly Harley tourers all my riding life. There have been many other makes and models over the years including Guzis and BMW.
As I have bought a used bike can anyone tell me if there is anything I should be looking out for please.

Hi steve flrtcher and :400: to the Club !

What year is the Trophy you bought ?

Apart from the obvious - checking all Services have been done,
there were a couple of early Recalls that may apply -
( ECU Replacement, Centre Stand strengthening bracket, Cylinder Head "Upgrade" ) -
a Triumph Dealer can check and advise of there's anything outstanding.

There were a few teething problems with some of the earliest bikes,
but most of these have been sorted out by Triumph.

Some of the more serious issues include :
( Click on each of them to go to a Topic in the Forum about the issue ) ...

    Ignition Switch Wiring Failures
Front Brake Discs Warped ( & Cleaning the "Bobbins" )
Gearbox - Slipping out of 2nd Gear.

For a COMPLETE list of most issues that have arisen - I have compiled a Topic :
HOW TO: Check the most common faults & issues.
The Topic is in Alphabetical Order ( spread over 3 "Pages" ), and is useful as a reference for anyone
that has a problem with their Trophy to be able to read up on it, and hopefully find a solution !

Don't be alarmed at the number of Issues listed - many of them are relatively minor, and / or have
affected relatively few Trophies, with some of them not actually a problem, just needing an explanation !

    Cheers  :821:

     :400:

There were a few issues with the model when it appeared on the scene. Most were fixed right off. If your new ride has any of them a dealer can sort it out.

    Enjoy the new ride.

My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
