    knee rubbing on tank sides

I wonder if anyone else has had the issue of their knee pads in the trousers (abrasive covering) rubbing the paint from the shaped part of the cowling below the tank.

could just be due to my long legs - but wondered if you had how you dealt with it

I installed tank pads on my bike (https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/techspec-snake-skin-tank-pads-triumph-trophy-se-2013-2015) and now that I'm aware of it I try to make an effort to not grip the tank with my legs unless I have to.

The following thread shows some pictures of the TechSpec knee pads others have installed:

But... your legs are the primary way to stay connected to the bike? With tank pads, I wouldn't think this would be an issue any more?

No need for me to squeeze the tank with my knees while freeway droning. Since most of my time on the bike is commuting or long road trips, I've changed my riding habits to sit a bit further back. On the times when I do hit a tight, twisty road, then I sit up closer to the tank and definitely use my legs more but like I said, that's less often these days than I would like.

Gotta go with the Techspecs. They do a great job. If you don't like them, you can use WD40 to get rid of the sticky stuff.

unfortunately the tank pads are for where the knees touch the side - due to my very long legs the rubbing is directly under the tank lip - so i am getting the area wrapped with a ceramic wrap - will let you know how it goes - as it should be very hard wearing

    cheers all
