Hello all. I just signed up. This is my 5th Triumph over a 20 year span. Picked up a 2014 SE at the end of last summer. Bought it from a friend so I know what its been through !  Having some issues with the audio system which I here is NOT that uncommon. LOL.  I am taking it to dealer in Fargo this Monday.  Wish me luck !!

:400: Bill and enjoy your ride.  :821:  I would still love my bike without the radio.

Hi Bill ND and :400: to the Club !

There is a well know issue with an early version of Audio software on the US / Canadian export
models equipped with XM Satellite radio, where the Audio Module would ( intermittently ) not
shut down when the Ignition was turned off, and continued to draw power - flattening the main battery.

This problem HAS been resolved with a new software version, and it is an easy "fix".
The "old" Software Version 1.04A, if you still have that, needs to be updated to Version 1.04E.

You can display the version installed on your Trophy, on your instrument panel :

The Radio MUST be OFF when the Ignition is switched ON ....

Turn the Ignition ON ( but don't start the engine ) and check for "RADIO OFF" in the Display.
If it's ON, then turn it OFF ( Volume all the way down to Minimum, then Mute and OFF ),
Switch the Ignition OFF, then back ON again and confirm that "RADIO OFF" is now displayed.
Press and hold the "P" button until the "DIAGNOSTICS" menu is displayed.
Scroll to the S/W VERSION item, and press Select.( "i" ).

If the software does need to be updated, we have heard some reports of Dealers
unfamiliar with the process, being unable to do so.

If you experience this, direct them to :

Log In to "TOL" ( The Triumph Dealer Portal ),
From the Pull Down Menu select "Service / Technical",
Access "Diagnostics Software" where they will find the Audio Software update.

I understand that the software has to be downloaded, then transferred to a USB Memory stick,
( "Thumb Drive" ) for the update to be performed via the USB Socket inside the Glove Box.

Installation instructions should be accessible by the Dealer once they've located the software download,
but it would be worth taking a blank Memory stick with you, ( the file is only 248KB in size ) -
just in case you arrive there and find they don't have one - Which has been known !

    Cheers  :821:

Welcome. Get that issue sorted as it is now officially spring. I say that as I look outside at snow falling here in northern Ohio.

    It won't be long!
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Thanks all for the warm welcome !    And the info. I am aware of the audio update and the problem I have is battery drain. Also at times it will state audio not found and I have to pull and replace the fuse to get audio back. I have not checked to see if the update has been performed but I am guessing not. My  friend ( previous owner ) had took it to a dealer in Montana and was told everything was up to date but we have LITTLE faith in that dealer. LOL   And since I am in need of some new rubber anyway I will have them go over the bike and do any updates that are needed. The dealer in Fargo seemed to be pretty knowledgeable over the phone so we shall see !!
