    Price of TPMS replacement

I would like some information please, as part of my recent purchase I will need to have new tyres installed. No issues with that. As part of tyre change I will replace the 4 year old TPMS. The dealer quoted me $180 CAD for each. I went online and a couple of part suppliers show a kit which has 2 monitors shown at a price as low as $140, even with our exchange and shipping this would be quite the saving for me. Do I have the right part number.

    Part number is A9640169

    Thanks
    Ed

    Hi Etitanic,

On the World of Triumph web site, there are only two variants of the TPMS Sensor for the Trophy SE.

One is for Japan, and the other is for the Rest of the World ( ROW ).
The difference is with their operating frequency ( 315MHz for Japan, 434MHz for ROW )

On Triumph Motorcycles Web Site The part number you refer to comes up,
    when searching
accessories for the Trophy SE, as a pair of TPMS Sensors - so the number you have is correct  :028:

DON'T FORGET to factor in the Dealer having to program the new TPMS Sensors to your Trophy !
( And record the new TPMS Sensor serial numbers on Page 51 of your Owners Handbook ! )

Out of interest, these TPMS Sensors fit the following Triumph motorcycles :

    Trophy SE 2012-2016
    Street Triple ABS 2013-2016
    Street Triple R ABS 2013-2016
    Daytona ABS 2013-2016
    Daytona R ABS 2013-2016
    Speed Triple ABS 2009-2016
    Speed Triple R ABS 2009-2016
    Tiger 800 ABS 2011-2015
    Tiger Sport 2013-2016
    Tiger Explorer 2012-2016
    Tiger XR 2014-2016
    Tiger XRx 2014-2016
    2017 Street Triple Range

    Cheers  :821:

The kit that the "other than Triumph" dealer had to buy to replace one of mine they broke mounting a tire is not a sealed unit and the batteries could be replaced in them.  The ones that were installed as a warranty replacement because of the low battery issue when new are a sealed unit and it would be almost impossible to remove enough of the epoxy to replace the battery.  I now have a pair with replaceable batteries so I don't think I'll ever buy another set.

Ed, is this the outfit you found for the TPMS sensors? Don't need them yet but will probably order some to have at the ready when the time comes.

I just put tires on mine and decided to forget about the TPMS.  It would be more expensive for the TPMS parts and reprogram than the tires were.

I did look at these but after discovering that the dealer (Echo) had given me bad information - said it was for one sensor which I challenged - I ended up buying the kit for 172 ($180 with tax) from them. They charge exactly what Triumph Canada would charge and if you have Triumph ship directly to the dealer no shipping costs. I was a break even with the exchange and shipping from the US. Plus Echo had a kit in stock.

OK that price sounds more reasonable, thanks
