The ladies we sit astride daily
« on: July 12, 2013, 09:21:19 AM »

So... I'm always being laughed at and having the p :172: s taken out of me for naming my bikes! But as far as I'm concerned, it makes perfect sense.

Why?... I'm glad you asked!!  :008:

  • We regularly get a leg over when we're the ones in the mood!
  • We ride them hard
  • The ride normally lasts longer than... :172:
  • Regardless of what anyone says, our bikes have character

So... I found that my Trophy accelerates aggressively, she's very responsive and yet happy bimbles along when required. So I have affectionately named mine Dorris.

Does anyone else follow in this practice?

All my vehicles have been named! Mainly because I go for things with character and personality and therefore they have a name too!

My Trophy is called Tyson, because he is a big bruiser!

Previous bike was Jasper as he was a big black and yellow German wasp.

The car is Sven, he is a Volvo! Need I say more?

LOL
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧

My pan was called Vera, Mainly because she had the attitude of a 1940s house wife!

I too have a Volvo, a beige one... He's a Jeff.

Hold on... A beige volvo, touring bikes, a beard, slippers, flat cap and love of port...

There's an older thread that asked a similar question: "Is Your bike male or female ?"

https://www.triumph-trophy.com/index.php/topic,187.0.html

I've named all my bikes and some of the cars I've owned.

My Trophy's name is Leyla.  I had thought her name was Midnight, and eventually came up with Leyla.  It's derived from an arabic word for night.  Seems to fit her just fine.

I have named mine Moses as when I filter the cars part like the Red Sea. I love the brightness of the headlights. Traffic seems to see me far earlier than on the Honda (Henry).

Never really thought of a name tho my  white Victory Vegas was called babe. :008:

The Trophy is a bloke and I usually just call him "buddy" as in "come on buddy lets get out of here". Just as our lass is about to ask me to do something  :745:
