I bought a used 2017 from a dealer that does not sell Triumphs.  Will my factory warranty still cover this bike?

I would think the warranty would remain in force for two years from the original purchase date regardless of whether or not you are the first owner, just like any other vehicle.  But I never bought a used bike new enough to still be within the warranty period.  A call to Triumph NA might be in order.

I expect that to happen then, the dealer is calling on my behalf also.  It rolled 3K miles during my demo ride.

    Thanks for the info.

It doesn't matter from whom you purchased the bike, but rather the "in-service date" from when it was sold new. I could have purchased a 2017 in November-ish 2016, so it's possible the bike only has a few months warranty left. However much warranty is left, however, is good and transferred to whomever the new owner is UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS A SALVAGE. Manufacturers do not, and are not obligated to provide warranty coverage on salvage title vehicles, even if they have 0 miles. No, nobody said it was a salvage, just covering all the bases.

Something you may want to consider is purchasing an extended warranty for the bike.  I have a 2013 and used it a few times.  Given the cost of the technology on this bike I found the extended warranty to be very reasonable.

If you are interested, contact a Triumph dealer within the 2 year warranty provided by the manufacturer.  I believe the one I purchased through my local Triumph dealer was with a company called RPM.  I bought the longest one they offered.  They have even covered the TPMS sensors, replacing both when I got battery low indications from them.

This bike already has a low resale value, if it has non-functioning systems, I suspect it becomes a paper weight.

    Just my two cents.

Ride Safe, I love my TTSE.

    To close the loop:

I got the bike today and learned that it was first sold in Sept 2017 and that the warranty follows the VIN and not the owner.  Thus the warranty is valid until Sept 2019.
