Which way to place this decal/sticker

I was going to post this in the Mods and appearance section but figured it's not really specific to anything.

I see these decals/stickers for sale as side specific.  That is, sold as "RH" or "LH".  Now when I see them I think the concave side, the one with the two points appear to be what would be mounted on the rope of a flagpole. Therefore the points would be pointed into the wind like a flag flying.  Always opposite of how they are listed.  Yeah, I know it's up to the person placing the sticker but just wonder if I'm alone in my thoughts?  :187:

In other words this image is listed as being "LH" or Left Hand with the left side of the image forward.  I think it's backwards and the pointy Right hand side should be forward.   So make a plea for either direction.

The union part that they show is the end away from the pole.  So you are correct the pointy bits or the us flag is the pole side.

The field of blue on an American flag always leads, just as if a soldier carrying the flag into battle.

So when placed on a vehicle, shoulder of a shirt, side of a helmet, etc., the field of blue should always face the front.

To allow the field of blue to be at the rear, some will argue shows disrespect, as if the flag is submitting or retreating.

The picture you have shown I would argue is RH, because you can only draw an imaginary flagpole on its right side.

    p.s.--nice find!

Stupid question - why should the Union Jack not be leading from the front?  :431:

I think it's probably refered to as "Left Hand" by the seller
is because it flies to the Left of the Flag Pole, which is on the Right.

If I were fitting these on a Bike I would put it on the Right Side,
so that when travelling forwards it is flying into wind.

The other ( Left ) side of the bike needs a "Right Hand" Flag version,
flying to the right of the Flag Pole on the left.

The union flag has the wider white stripes to the top near the pole.  In the picture the wider white stripes are below the red so that is the end away from the pole!

I searched for them on eBay (USA).  So as not to offend either UK or USA viewers the seller is in Canada.  :002:  Here is one link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/American-British-Waving-Flag-Decal-USA-Union-Jack-Britain-Gloss-Sticker-LH-HGV/362309335602?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D13703695d557463cadb592f5041fdd3e%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D362309335602%26itm%3D362309335602&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

I think Coconut got it right.  It's listed as LH because it's flying Left of the pole.  I'm going to grab a set for a new white helmet and place with field of blue forward as I wanted.  Now I have an answer if/when anyone questions placement.

    Thanks all........

    Rick
