    Phone not working.

    Evening all.
Well picked my new TTSE up this morning and had a fantastic 3 hour ride home through Snowdonia.

Lots of playing with the toys and managed to sort most things out, the phone however is giving me grey hairs!

iPhone SE connected with both USB and blue tooth to the audio system.
Schewberth SRC connected to audio via blue tooth.

Can play music off the phone through either the usb or blue tooth, and can hear through the speakers or in the helmet which ever is selected.

The problem I've got is with the phone itself.  If a call comes in it will cut out the audio and ring in the helmet.  The indicator will show on the screen and I can accept the call.  This is when the problem starts.  Both incoming out outgoing talk is very intermittent.  Works fine when phone is connected directly to my helmet.

Tried unpairing and pairing again to no avail.  Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah, it's called IPhone.  I don't think you will be happy unless you USB the phone to the audio and Bluetooth pair it to the helmet only to use for calls.  Then it will be the Sena's (or whichever Bluetooth unit you have) priority assignment for phone, media, intercom, etc..  Do an internet search for IPhone Bluetooth issues and you'll find there are all kinds of issues with some motorcycles and some cars.  Some work fine and some don't.  Until update 11.2.last, my phone wouldn't dial with my Sena 20S at all.  It finally worked, but it took a setting that enabled Siri to get it to work at all for calling or answering.  Right now it works, but IOS 11.3.XX is out there now and will update on my phone tonight, so tomorrow may be a different story.  One of the members here was a big help giving me his Sena settings and phone settings, but it finally took the Siri thing for calls that got it to work.  No idea what was different about my phone from anyone else's, but I got the Siri tip from the internet in a video from Europe.  It doesn't take the "Hey Siri" command, I can just ask it to dial and a number and it will give me the voice prompts and work.  The Trophy's audio system has no provision for input from a mic like the BMW systems, so if a function requires mic operation it has to be connected directly to the helmet.  It's time consuming, but when it's all working it's nice. :821:

Somehow I'd got a strange feeling it would be related to the iPhone, like you said I do sometimes have issues with it in the car.

My phone contract is up for renewal soon and a little hacked off with Apple.  Is there a phone that works consistently with the audio system?

If it's Bluetooth connected into the audio system, it won't also connect to the headset by Bluetooth, only one or the other.  My phone is Bluetooth directly to the Sena, Ipod in the glove box by USB, and Trophy Audio into the helmet by Bluetooth since the Sena has 2 separate channels.  When I turn on the headset I get "device connected" (my phone, then when I start the Trophy most of the time there is nothing, so I have to hold the jog dial down until I get 2 beeps and then it will voice prompt with "media connected" and the Trophy audio comes on.  Sometimes if I shut it off for a bit somewhere I'll have to get the Trophy audio keyed up again, but it always works.  It's been that way for a few months now and I don't dare change anything because it's working.  Others with Bluetooth gps' have trouble getting everything to work.

    Hi Bucket,

It seems like everything is working, but with poor Phone Call quality ......

If you have the iPhone connected to the USB Socket in the Glove Box,
AND it is also connected to the Trophy Audio System via Bluetooth as "DEVICE 1"
( with your Helmet system set as "HEADSET 1" ),
then I would suggest turning OFF the Bluetooth Audio INPUT of the Trophy,
as you don''t need it - Music on the iPhone will be "seen" at the USB Port as an "iPod".

To switch this Setting OFF :

Ignition ON - Press and hold "M" until the "RADIO SETTINGS" Menu appears.
Scroll down to SOURCE SETUP and Press "i"
Scroll down to ALT SOURCE and Press "i"
At NAV AUDIO use the Scroll button to change between ON or OFF then Press "i"
( This enables the Dedicated NAV Audio Input for GPS - If it doesn't need changing just Press "i" ).
At the Bluetooth AUDIO setting, use the Scroll button to change to OFF and Press "i".
Scroll to EXIT and Press "i" to Exit from the various Menu's.

It may be that having the iPhone connected by Bluetooth AND USB
is causiing some sort of conflict, affecting the quality of the Phone Calls.

    Cheers  :821:

    Morning Coconut,
Turned off the Bluetooth input on the audio system and tried again.

Could hear the caller clearly but they could only hear me faintly and really intermittently.

Tried a second time and the audio would only allow me to reject the call.

Disconnected and reconnected the phone and back to only hearing.

This is going to get more complicated when I install the sat nav!

They can only hear you faintly because the phone mic is what is picking up your voice, it's not being transmitted from the helmet through the Trophy audio to the phone, the Trophy has no provision for helmet mic input.  When I was having so much trouble that was what was occurring, the helmet mic was not operating with the phone even though the mic input graph on the phone claimed it was receiving it.  Which Bluetooth system are you using?
