    tom tom mounted

My electrical and wiring skills are zero, but, without a sideways glance at any of Coconut's 'How to......'  (except where to find the battery) I managed to install a mount for my Tom Tom Sat Nav. A clamp, ram ball mount and a couple of cable ties !  Job done in 5 mins.   If I could pat myself on the back I would.   Cheers.

    all ok with that  :169:

However just to the left of your clutch reservoir is a small black rubber bung. If you pull this out you will see a thread which you can use to mount another mirror  :169: or you can get a RAM mount ball to screw in and then mount your ram mount to that  :015:

It's just a bit tidier than the "U" shape clamp around the bars  :007:

    It wasn't me !!

That's an M10 x 1.25 thread in that mirror mount, and Ram has the balls with stud in a few different threads, so be sure to get the correct one.

True, but depending on the size of the device and the RAM extensions you're using it could block the mirror. I found that my iPhone Plus was partially obstructing my line of sight to the rear view mirror mounted in the fairing. I eventually mounted a ZUMO so I was able to get rid of the RAM mount. The U-clamp may be a viable option for a more centrally located mounting with no mirror obstruction.

I modified a short Ram arm by filing another shallow adjustment slot at 90 degrees from the original with a round file and can now keep my IPhone 6 plus from interfering with the mirror view.  I usually don't even put my phone in the X-grip though, I just leave it in my jacket pocket since it's Bluetoothed to the helmet and I don't really need anything else to be looking at.
