Who's been looking at my bike
« on: July 13, 2013, 02:52:33 pm »
I took the trophy up to my local supermarket today to get some goodies for the BBQ tonight, when I came out there was an elderly lady sitting in the car next to my bike with the door open looking at the bike. As I approached she said " I'm glad I've caught you" now there's me thinking what have you done. She got out and started talking about the Trophy, now I am use to the odd elderly gent admiring the bike and talking about their good old days of biking, and I always give them time and explain some of the bikes features, but an elderly lady is something else.

Turns out she used to work in the Triumph factory many years ago, she said it's all about that badge ( Triumph), " I never thought I would see a Triumph badge on such a beautiful machine" She went on to say it made her feel proud, working in the Triumph factory brought back many great and happy memories. After chatting for a while it was time to go, she sat back in the car wound down the window and said " let me hear you start her up" I duly obliged. She gave me the thumbs up as the triple came to life!!

A lovely lady, and I think me and the Trophy made her day. :152:

That is truly a lovely story! It shows what a place in the hearts of many Brits the name Triumph has!
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧

You have to have good eyes to see the word Triumph if you dint have the panniers on. Especially when you are passing everyone at speed.

Someone asked me the other day if my Trophy was the new GoldWing. lol I politely told him no, it was the new Triumph. If I could get the chrome letters to spell out TRIUMPH, I'd find a place to spell it out for them.
