    Zumo 395 connection

Got a 395 and having all sorts of issues getting everything to work as it should via Bluetooth.

I've read a few posts on here about connecting via a 3.5 mm Jack lead into the nav input on the audio and would like to give this a try.

Question is, what length of cable do I need to reach from the nav, on the triumph mount, to the audio unit?

Would like to get the right cable before I start taking bits off and find its either too long or short.

The wiring harness for the Garmin mount has the wire you want bundled into it... how are you mounting the GPS if you don't have the mount? Or have you not mounted it yet?

I've got the 395 mount on the bike and the harness supplied only has the power feed with two pins on the mount and back of the unit.

Hey Bucket,  I just did an install of my 595 on my TT.  My 595 came with a cable that had a bunch of connectors on it for power, audio in, audio out, mic in.  I took a look at the Garmin site and saw that the 395 doesn't have that type of cable, but does have an audio out / headphone jack that can be used to feed the audio system.  The distance from the mount to the connector is about two feet after routing.  The connector is on the left side just below and forward of the left mirror.  it should be gathered with the audio system gps power connector and  velcroed to the loom.  The audio  connector should have a short piece of shrink wrap covering the pin.

It took me longer to remove the necessary panels and reinstall them than it did to install the wiring.

I referenced to How To pages on panel removal and the other one on gps install.

    Have fun.

To be safe, I would suggest A 3' cable.  that will give you a little extra to loop around to the right angle on the gps.  It's better to have to tie up a little extra than to be taught.

Ordered a 1m one.  They're trying to introduce that pesky metric system over here, it'll never catch on!  :087: :138:

That will be plenty.  I invested in a good 5mm ball end hex wrench from Bondhus.  It makes servicing sooo much easier than using a L shaped wrench.
