Angel ST vs GT?

After 9k miles my original ST's are showing their age...What can I expect from the Pirelli GT A spec?
Mostly one up, 25% super slab riding.

IMHO the GT A spec offers far better performance wet or dry, one or two up.

I had GT "A" spec on my K1600 and thought they were good, especially compared to the old Metzeler's it came with.  I've got a rear Avon Storm 3D on my Trophy and really like it.

They'll last longer too, had over 13k on my last set, Keep an eye on the front tire, mine wore out before the rear did.

Have heard second hand (reviews etc. - I'm not much of a tire nerd) that the Angel ST is an OEM tire - designed to be inexpensive and not misbehave. The Angel GT, however, is designed for people that want a tire that's sporty and grips well everywhere, dry or wet, and are willing to sacrifice mileage to get that behavior.

No complaints about my OEM STs, except I swapped them at 6k miles and doesn't look like they'd go much past 7k, especially the rear. Replaced with RS IIIs which work great as well.

Most of my sport-touring riding is more touring than sport, though. YMMV

GT A spec offer more rigid sidewall that copes with the Trophy's weight. I've got an average of ~12,000km per set (three sets).

The Angel GT is also an OEM tire (it comes as original equipment on the BMW R1200 RT). The GT is just the next iteration of the Angel tire.

I average 12500 kms per set. Not hard riding, mainly freeway to get to twisties.
