Minor Starting Issue

Once and a while when I hit the starter button. starter will spin, engage, maybe start to turn engine then just stop. Kind of like happens if you have a low battery. Then hit the button again and it spins, with authority, and starts just like always. Generally only happens maybe once every 20 - 30 starts or more, but has happened more often a couple of times. Happens at random times, could be hot, could be cold, doesn't seem to matter. Anyone else seen this?

Hasn't happened to me but it doesn't sound normal. I'd see the dealer while still under warranty

Better to report it as it may be a known issue, or perhaps one that should be known.

Are you waiting for the bike to do it's electronic circuit checks and screen set routine, or perhaps you are tricking the bike part way through. That's the only thing I can think it might be. I have had the low battery signal a couple of times through the start up routine, and just put it down to circuitry sequencing gremlins.
I ride it like I stole it, but I understand the complexity of the circuits NOT.
Don't grow up, it's a trap...

I was told by the dealer to give it a bit of time after turning on before hitting the starter but he said wait for the fuel pressure to come up to pressure (listen for the pump to stop). I don't think with helmet and ear plugs I can hear it though so I just wait for the instrumnets to settle. I think once I did have the same issure but I think it was when my finger was not properly on the starter button and I was not firm enough (probably winter gloves slipping off). Never had the problem again especially with summer gloves.
