    Dealer Tool - job done

At last I decided to get the dealer tool, arrived on Friday, downloaded the software Saturday morning, connected to bike and sent for code in the morning and received it back 4hrs later, considering it's the weekend that's not bad service.

Software install was easy until windows 10 wouldn't recognise the driver, the downloaded instructions do warn of this but I'm not the most computer literate, eventually got it working. Pity it's not plug & play.

first task was to re set the service interval, easily done. Then enable the icons for the heated seat & grips, again easy enough. Then reset the screen limits... simples... and finally check the throttle balance, all in order and simple enough to use.

Had a quick run through the other available checks, just because I could.

All in all a good piece of kit, you can justify the cost if you compare to dealer prices for them doing anything to the bike..

One gripe, Im used to Tune ECU, a similar program for earlier Triumphs, it has a better interface, you can change fuel & ignition maps (for aftermarket filters & exhausts) and the big difference.... its free.. you just have to buy a cable from ebay for £10. Pity it doesn't work with the Trophy.

Curious, have you confirmed Tune ECU won't work on the trophy??  I suspect some of the parameters won't work but will it function at all?

Wouldn't work for me, just wouldn't connect. I have seen a couple of articles on the net seemingly saying it can work but I have tried without sucess and I mailed them to see of they would add the Trophy.. they were good enough to reply but no plans to write the necessary code.

    No Problem  :028:

DealerTool can definitely perform those tasks, and many more !  :169:

Some folks have had a problem with the initial installation to their PC, so make sure
when you install the software you have switched off any connection to the Internet -
to prevent Windows searching for and installing what it "thinks" are the correct Drivers !

If you have any problems the Tech Guys at DealerTool are, in my experience,
excellent at helping resolving them, and can be contacted by email here :

    support@dealertool.co.uk

    Cheers  :821:
