    Throttle not responding?

Was out for a run today, couple of hundred miles on back roads, one stretch from Arrochar down the Loch side towards Helensburgh was especially spirited  :152:
About 2 miles of really twisty road with lots of ups and downs, anyway, after a rise I went back on the throttle and... nothing  :114:
It wasn't the sort of road where I could look at the dash, but a quick glance showed no warnings. Tried the throttle two or three times with no response. By now I had slowed to about 30 mph and could look at the dash... still no lights, I pulled in the clutch and pressed the starter, back to normal. It was fine for the 50 or 60 miles to home.
when it happened I was reving about 6-8k in third, the bike wasn't jumping off the rises, maybe a very slight lift of the front wheel occasionally. There isn't a "Stop being silly" device by any chance?
Any clues to what to look for, will check for fault codes during the week.....

I discovered once that my rear brake stuck in a slightly applied position.  The Trophy will not accelerate and brake simultaneously.  Since my brake was attended to in the Triumph garage, I have not had an issue where I had NO throttle response.

Its a safety feature I was told.  Thinking back I had been overtaking a bus and had to back off and was on the brakes/throttle which left me no power at the side of the road scratching my baldy head.
    Hope this helps.

I had the same problem.  I changed the gear lever bolts and it must have moved the brake lever a hair.  Bike would not go into cruise and would loose power if I gave it to much throttle. After adjusting the brake switch everything was good.

Do all bikes that have a fly by wire throttle have this safety feature I wonder??

Now I'm confused.  I often, when making a tight U-Turn, hold pressure (drag) on the rear brake and throttle around the turn also slipping the clutch.  Basically how I've seen it done during demonstrations, etc.  Are you saying the bike should not throttle up or just it won't throttle much above a slow RPM??  I admit when I drag the rear brake I'm not bouncing the RPM off the redline or anything :)

"If the Throttle twist grip is rotated more than 20 degrees AND the Brake(s) are applied for more than two seconds, the throttle will automatically close and engine power output will be reduced."

OK, now I get it.  Next time I ride I'll try and confirm it's working!!  :)
