    That's it I'm off

I currently have the TT in the dealer for a starter weird noise. I do have a post on this. Bottom line is that the dealer has ordered some bearings to be told they are obsolete. The dealer cant tell me when they can get the parts.

I then said that' s no good and closed a deal on a Tiger 800. I did test ride one a few weeks back and it was cracking.

SO  anyone in the UK want a Lunar Sliver top box with pad and sliding carridge.

    It wasn't me !!

    Hi silverstripes,

Sorry to hear of the problems,
do you  know which Bearings they are referring to as being obsolete ?

I have previously had assurances from Triumph that they continue to support discontinued models
for several years - and would do so for a minimum of 12 years from discontinuinng the Model !

With regards to your Top Box etc, you'd be better off listing it
in the Forum Marketplace "Items For Sale" Section  :028:

    Cheers  :821:

This is the same motor that is in the explorer.  Something is not right here.

That's what I said "same motor as Explorer".

The bearings are for a torque converter ??? one mounted in crankcase and one in left hand cover. That's all I know.

Sounds about right for Bridge. :151:

You should be able to get better quality bearings from Erics or similar Motor Factor - all they need is O/D x I/D x Width of bearing and type required i.e Roller or Needle etc.

I'd settle for SKF or similar top brand - but I'll bet Bridge will refuse to fit anything other than extortionate second rate Taiwanese (Triumph) rubbish.

What do you mean by "That's it I'm off"..?

In the end you have done the deal hope all works out well.  And sorry about the issue.  I don't think any one else has had the same problem but worth keeping an eye out.

If you have the numbers off the old bearings you should be able to get a cross reference and buy replacements at a bearing supply store.  Should be a lot less expensive as well.   I did that on a friends Bonneville 45 years ago and it worked out fine.  I've done it several times with old cars as well.
