Slow idle, stalled engine

Hey Y'all, I've noticed my engine is idling "rough" lately. it slows down to ~700 rpm and starts to misfire a little or even suddenly stall out while waiting for a stoplight to change to green. Happened twice this weekend. Brought in to Ray Price Triumph, they downloaded some new mystery software fixes and no improvement other than now it varies between 700 rpm then bounces up to 1100 rpm then slows back down to 700 rpm then bounces back up to 1100 rpm ad nauseum. I don't like it. The demo at RP idles like a sewing machine at exactly 1000 rpm and doesn't vary at all....I like that! So, it's back in the shop for more intense trouble-shooting. He has 4100 miles on him and his MPG has slowly been dropping from 52 to 46 in the last month or so...Anyone out there with similiar story, let me know! Thanks, -Dr Ron

Possible fuelling problem? Crap in the fuel filter or injectors?

Hi Ron
Has it been dusty / dry where you are ??
Wonder if the air filter is a little blocked and its messing with the mixture. Or it could be a Oxy sensor going down in the exhaust and giving false readings to the ECU.
The dealer shoulld be able to solve this without any problems

So far, Noel, our local super-wrench says that the CPU is continuing to run the bike on an "open-loop" management fueling map and not transitioning to the "closed-loop" map....SOooooooo, he is still in the Investigative phase as to WHY this is and how to FIX it! -Dr Ron, hoping for the best!

So, here's the update: Triumph Central tells my Ace Tech, Sir Noel, that my fuel mapping isn't switching from rich to lean like it's supposed to....this is why it idles rough and stalls, this is why I can't seem to get more than about 46 MPG as well. Currently the bike is in a hundred pieces in the shop and Noel is looking at air injectors, valve clearances, vaccum tube lines and fueling modules for evidence of leaks, corrosion, excess wear etc. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, the Good Folks at Ray Price Triumph have basically given me unlimited time on their Demo TTSE, which is truly a Blessing! Stay safe out there Y'all! -Dr Ron
