New to the forum but have had the Trophy for a year. Love, love , love this bike. Was always a Yamaha guy but couldn't find the FJR to be "it" for me. The Trophy is "it" and so much more. Safe travels to all.

:400: to the forum.  Another member that recently joined was asking about the ergonomics of the Trophy vs the FJR for a taller rider before making the leap and buying the Trophy.  There wasn't a Trophy nearby for him to demo ride and tell if it would work for him.

I'm 5'10" so not as tall as some. I found the FJR held me a bit forward, more "sport" where the Trophy is more "Tour". I tried a taller and recurved windshield on the FJR and could never get the wind noise relief I was seeking (The Trophy is perfect). I also found the FJR seat uncomfortable after an hour or so - the Trophy takes many hours. Lastly, maybe it was just my FJR, but the right mirror had a slight buzz and after 45 minutes I had to continually shake my hand. 2 hours of this was downright painful.
Lastly, I would add that I rode the FJR to a dealer to test ride the Trophy and within 10 minutes on the Trophy that dealer had a sale whether he knew it or not.
