    Weak FM Radio Reception

2013 Trophy SE in USA,  FM reception is very weak :151: since it can only find 1-3 stations to listen to.  My Scala Q3 built in FM receiver is 1000% better and gets 10 times more stations.  Is there something that can be done to improve the FM reception?

I do not have any issues with my FM although I usually listen to XM or an Ipod.

Are you using the stock antenna?

Check that the Cable plug is inserted corrrectly into the Audio Unit,
as a loose connection could cause such a problem.

The Audio Unit is below Stowage box underneath the Ride Seat.

There are 4 x Torx screws to remove, then the stowage box lifts right out.
The Antenna cable is the fat Black one next to the Multi Plug, and it just pushes in / pulls out.
( Try not to pull on the cable and grasp the body of the plug to avoid straining the connections ).

( NOTE : UK Model shown - in the US, the Yellow Plug is connected where the square Blanking Plug
can be seen - this is the Antenna connection for the XM Satellite Radio.)

There is also a push in, In-Line connector from the FM Antenna,
which is located directly behind the Instrument Pack.

To access it you need to release the Instrument Panel surround screws,
and you can find instructions for that here :

HOW TO: Fitting Triumlh Sat Nav Mount & Zumo 660

You will then see the connector held in a black plastic clip.

    Cheers  :821:

Going by my own experience, depending on where I am in the UK at any particular time, I'd say that the FM aerial reception just isn't great on my bike.

    Dear all.

This week I have mounted a quick shifter in my Trophy.
Putting everything back, I have disconnected most connections and sprayed them with some kind of WD 40, to prevent against corrosion.
Also all the bolts of the fairing and others are punt into withe grease.
I noticed that the earth bolt of the antenna wiring was not tighten correctly. You may say a kind of loose.
Perhaps this gives the poor radio quality?
Tomorrow I will go for a test ride, for both, radio and quick shifter.

I am very interested in knowing more about the quick shifter installation.  My buddy has a BMW K1300 which comes with a quick shifter and it is fun to drive!  Is the quick shifter a Triumph part or aftermarket?

    @ DGTrophy;
I will come back to you (and the rest of the gang) with photo's and how it works.
There must be done some fine tune adjustments. The first impression is very good, and the Trophy has become even faster.
