Became a Trophy owner on Saturday

Hi everyone been in and out here for about a month.

Silver with 30k. Took the plunge bought from a dealer just off M56. After purchase found out gearbox had been repaired under warranty Headstock bearings full service completed at same time and inlet tubes changed before sale to me. Then after 2.5 hr ride home in lashing rain found out fork seals were leaking down wheels and discs. So cannot  ride till thats put right. Hope thats all gremlins gone ready for tour next year. My 95 st1100 never missed a beat till first 35k its been all over europe.

Still I do like the bike in many ways, but i'm too old for lots of hassle, see what it does over next 18months :431: :821:

    Hi ade52, and welcome.
Sorry to hear you are having problems already with your bike, what age is it.

I have owned mine for almost 12 months now, I did have the clutch cylinder fail within a week of buying the bike, that was done under warranty, the bike was second hand to me, but after that was repaired it has been a fantastic machine, remove all the luggage and it's a sports bike, I mostly ride it without the luggage, but having said that, the wife and I have just (today) returned back from a trip to Bulgaria on it, apart from a bolt coming loose, my own fault for not torqueing it up correctly, and a headlight bulb blowing, the bike was faultless, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I hope you can get your problems sorted, and have trouble free ownership.

Its a 2013 and seals will be done soon with out cost to me. I was looking for a 14 plate with lower mileage but they were out of budget, tipp over damage or too far to travel and this  one has has rg bars and don't need to bother with service for 10k and  took st in part ex.

:400: to the forum.  Once it's sorted you will enjoy it.  Mine is also a 2013 and it's been (knock wood) very reliable.

    Aloha Trophied,

Do they still allow swimming in the river in New Brumffells?

When I was in Special Forces Medic training at Fort Sam Houston (circa 1981), we made a trip there one weekend for some swimming in the River on a hot day.  It was a pretty cool place to spend a hot day away from Uncle Sam :)

    Dave

PS: I'm eyeballing a NEW 2017 (1 mile) Blue Trophy SE with Heated grips and both seats heated, matching Top Box, inner bags for the TOP BOX and the panniers, and an OEM Gas Tank bag to get (hopefully) over the Columbus Day weekend, albeit I have to drive 15 hours to get it, then home - thus the long 3-4 day weekend trip/extra vacation days Friday and Tuesday (with a borrowed bike trailer).  Then 10 days later I have my next Operation (13th since April 2014) and can't lift anything heavy for a while...and the next one is a shoulder repair (I might miss ski season too), so that will be the end of my riding season, but I'll be ready for next year!  Well, at least i'll be able to sit on it during the winter in my garage, and do more accessorizing (and in time to ask Santa for some things to go with it).
Don't pick a fight with an old guy, because if he can't fight - he'll just kill you!
