In search of Phantom Black pannier lid...

Grrrr. So it finally happened. Beloved daughter who usually, carefully and slowly exits the steed, decided to launch herself off when I gave her the all clear (either that or her leg caught the top box or pannier - I couldn't see!), and despite my best efforts, the TT slowly came to a rest on its side. My baby stayed scratch-free for just over a year, but now sports some nice ones on the right pannier lid/cover (we were downtown on asphalt, at a stop). Considered touch-up paint or a sanding/respray (or maybe even a whole new color for the entire bike!), but better sense prevailed when I saw that pannier lids can be had for about $75 here in the USA. That is, if you have a silver or blue model! No where can I find a pannier lid in Phantom Black anymore. Neither BikeBandit or the official Triumph sites list them anymore. I'm usually pretty good at finding these things, but can anyone point me in the right direction? I bought the bike knowing it was discontinued, but was assured parts would be available/supported by Triumph for ten years. Am a little concerned by this development. Forum, help!

Well, I finally found the part on Bike Bandit, only by changing my bike to a 2012 Sprint GT, but Phantom Blank right hand pannier lid is the same part no: T2356090-PR. Says ships in 7-10 days, so we'll see if I have as good a luck getting this part as the tank bag they still have listed (that order was canceled by the vendor). Stay tuned!

If you don't have any luck with BB you can try Hermes.  I've gotten very quick shipment from them the last few times I ordered any parts.

I'll second the recommendation for Hermys.  They got that exact cover for me last April - I had it in around 2 weeks after ordering.  I've noticed that parts seem to be disappearing from some of the online catalogs (including Hermys), but that the parts are still available.  You just need to find a site that still lists everything.  Good luck!

Thanks guys. Just for kicks I went to the Hermys site and found the same thing. Only way I could "drill down" and find "panniers" listed was by selecting a 2012 Sprint GT as the bike first. Then same items come up as on BB for the exact same price. I'm thinking they are both connected to the same supply technology. But if I strike out at BB, I'll give them a go. As you said though, a bit concerning to be seeing these parts disappearing from online catalogs.

I've been using the following site for part number lookup:

    https://us.fowlersparts.co.uk

I'm sure the UK members are familiar with them, but at least I can get part numbers to order at Hermys. It almost seems as though there's an issue with the online catalogs, not the parts themselves, as entire groups are missing, not just selected parts.  Likely an issue with whoever supplies the catalogs to those dealers.

I use World of Triumph ( UK )

They have the complete Parts Listings and exploded diagrams for the Trophy
( and other Models ) in well laid out and easy to use pages.

It seems that other Web sites may use a "cut down" version of the same thing.

The only minor gripe is that World of Triumph list parts with their own version of Part Number,
but this can be overcome by adding an Item to the "Basket", then viewing the Basket -
where the correct Triumph Part Number is displayed alongside their own  :169:

Parts can be ordered on-line and sent by post, but I've also noticed that their prices
seem to be a little ( 5% ish ) higher than buying direct from a Triumph Dealer.

    Cheers  :821:
