    Electric screen not working
    on: Sep 14, 2018, 11.05 am

Hi I am in portugal at the moment after travelling down from the uk on the way down the wind screen stopped working there seemed to be no power to it.
When we got to our final destination I checked the fuse which is ok. Has anyone else had this problem or has anyone any ideas. We travelled through a stor in france and the highered screen came in handy.
     Thanks Eamonn

It's possible that one of the Relays has failed :

Behind the Right Hand Side Cover :

The UP and DOWN Relays are identical ( and the same as the Brake Light Relay ).

If, for example, the Screen won't move UP,
you could try swapping the Windscreen Relays over,
and if it will then move UP but not DOWN
you would know that the UP Relay is faulty.

If the Relays are good, then the fault could be within the Handlebar Switch,
( maybe water got inside from the storm you rode through ? ),
or wiring connections to the Motor, which is buried away behind the instrument panel.

Access to the Service Manual and a Multi-Meter would probably be needed to conduct tests.   :169:

There are two Triumph Dealerships in Portugal - see below ...  :028:

Thanks Coconut that's informative I didn't give water from the storm a thought.
I'll have to wait till I get home I have a dealertool so i'll try that first.

DealerTool has a function to set the Upper and Lower Limit stops of the Screen,
which Powers the Screen Up and DOWN without needing to press the Handlebar buttons,
so that should at least help determine if Power is getting to the Screen or not.

    Cheers  :821:

Well we left Albufaira at 6 am and I could really have done with the screen for the cold, wind buffeting and the wind noise so I tried but no chance. About half an hour later I switched on thr heated grips and out of desperation I tried the screen and bingo it worked and has worked since as if there never was a problem. I don't know what tomorrow will bring but I was grateful for the screen today.
Could be a faulty switch I guess ?

So to day I tried the screen but no luck I then switched on the heated grips and the screen worked fine so must be a dodgy switch which I will inspect when I get home 😎

Well I took the bike to my local triumph dealer so they could plug it into their super computer to find the problem but all they could tell me was there was a screen malfunction!!!!
They advised me to find the problem myself as it could be very expensive for them to find the problem.
I have discovered that both relays are live on pins 1,2 and 4 weathe the handle bar switch is operated or not does anyone know it this is right ?
