TES rider profile selection
« on: July 17, 2013, 10:48:35 pm »
All—

I am able to program suspension profiles 1 and 2 but I don’t seem to be able to select between the profiles when riding.  How do you make the selection/what page of the owner’s manual is the selection process described?

Thanks,
--Papermaker

I try to remember that this type o selection has to be made before the bike is effectively on the move....?
On the French manual it's on pages 42 and followings :112:

As Verdun says the bike has to be stationary.  The details start on page 56 of the American version of the manual

Yes, you can only change between normal, sport & comfort on the move. The loading single rider, two up , one up plus luggage etc must be done while stationary. Which considering how you feel the bike adjust when you do change this setting is a damned good idea!

Thanks for the responses.  I’ve checked the TES section of the manual, starting on page 56, and still don’t understand how you toggle between profile 1 and 2.  On page 57, right-hand side of the page, third paragraph, states “It is possible to store the TES settings to two separate profiles (see page 47), allowing settings to be stored for different rider’s individual preferences, different riding styles or different loading conditions.”  But it doesn’t mention how to change from one profile to the other.  Can anyone point me the profile change language in the manual or describe the process?

Thanks,

I suspect you cannot select between Profiles when riding. Profiles are stored Under the "Settings" menu and you can only access it when the bike is stopped and you're on neutral. My understanding (agreed, I've seen nowhere in the Manual any clear explanation answering your point) is that once stopped and gearbox on neutral you get to the Settings menu and select the profile you want to use, then move up one or two notches to "Exit" and there you go. Does it make sense to you?
Maybe could you double check with your dealer?

Verdun95--

I've been stopped and in neutral when I tried to changes profiles but I wasn't doing it correctly.  Here is what I've found.

Ok, I figured out how to switch from one rider profile to the other.  In the US owner’s manual on page 44, right-hand column, first bullet item it states “Load – pressing the select button will load the selected profile and exit.”  Load profile = select profile!

Thanks everyone for you help,

--John
